5 indoor plants that are easy to keep alive and look good

The indoor urban jungle has been a huge trend the last year(s) and as you might have guessed; I am a big fan. But if you travel a lot or were not born with green thumbs, it can be hard to keep your plants alive. Don’t worry, you don’t have to go for the fake ones, these 5 indoor plants are very easy to keep alive and also look good.

Cactus - easy houseplant

Cactus

The cactus is the easiest plants you will find. They don’t need much water or care. Most cacti will survive when only watered once a month. You’ll probably kill it easier by over-watering, than underwatering. They come in a lot of different forms and sizes, so I’m sure you will find something you like.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera doesn’t need to be watered very often, maybe once a week or two. It is in greater danger being overwatered than underwatered. It is most happy in a well-lit space with indirect sunlight.

Ficus lyrata or Fiddle leaf fig

The ficus lyrata likes bright indirect light. Water it once a week (or when the soil is dried out). Turn it around frequently to keep it growing straight and keep it away from cold draught.

Boston fern

Put it in a cool place with indirect sunlight and keep the soil damp. In winter when you turn on the heater it might be a good idea misting your fern.

Ficus elastica house plant

Ficus elastica or Rubber tree

Ficus elastica is my favorite plant at the moment. The plant is happy if you give it a well-lit spot with indirect light. Water it well but not too frequently, just wait till the soil dries out.
